Marketing expertise for growing businesses

Marketing strategy, brand, customer experience and technology, joined up by a senior marketer who has done it hands-on.

What I do

I help small and medium-sized businesses join up strategy, brand, customers and technology, so marketing pulls in one direction and pays for itself.

Expertise

Marketing strategy and leadership

  • A clear plan tied to revenue and profit, not activity

  • Priorities, budgets and trade-offs agreed before money is spent

  • Fractional Marketing Director support when you need senior leadership without a full-time salary

  • Honest challenge for owners and boards, delivered calmly

Brand and positioning

  • Work out what makes you the obvious choice, and say it plainly

  • Brand repositioning that customers notice and the numbers reflect

  • One consistent story across website, sales, campaigns and partners

Customer proposition and product marketing

  • Shape offers customers understand and want

  • Launch new products and services, from concept to market

  • Test the proposition against real customer behaviour, helped by my psychotherapist training in understanding and segmenting customers

Building and running your marketing function

  • Hire the right people and set them up to succeed

  • Structure the team, process and roadmap so work flows

  • Hold agencies to account, so you know what you are paying for

  • Brief, manage and measure paid, search, social, PR and email partners

Customer relationships: CRM, email and lifecycle

  • Turn one-off buyers into repeat customers

  • Choose, set up and run the tools that hold your customer data

  • Email and lifecycle journeys that feel personal, not pushy

  • I have run email sends myself, hands-on, for a year

  • Practical delivery, not just advice

Digital and performance

  • Spend where it earns a return, and stop where it does not

  • Experience managing budgets of up to £750k a month

  • Know what a customer is worth over time (lifetime value, or LTV), so you can set what you are willing to pay to win one (customer acquisition cost, or CAC). I pushed for LTV models and used them to manage CAC, alongside triangulation modelling

  • Measurement you can read without a data team. I read and act on Google Analytics 4 (GA4) data, and I have worked alongside trading, business intelligence and data science specialists

  • Search direction that follows real demand: choosing which keywords are worth pursuing, checking that your site's authority and focus are well spread, and briefing the content team to match

  • Join up channels so each supports the others

Partnerships, affiliates and go-to-market

  • Find partners whose audience is your audience

  • Set up affiliate and partnership programmes with clear commercial controls

  • Plan launches with a date, an owner and a measure of success

Content and campaigns

  • Content that builds authority with the buyers you want

  • Campaigns across digital and traditional media, working with PR and TV agencies, with hands-on radio experience

  • Messages written for your customers, not for your industry

Tools I work with

I have helped implement and run Bloomreach for customer data and email, hands-on. I also work with Monday.com, Slack and Brevo, and I have used Sistrix to review search performance and keyword focus.

I am a marketing leader with substantial practical experience of marketing technology. I am not a data scientist or a technical architect, and I will say so when you need one.

Where I have worked

Insurance and insurance technology (a digital platform selling temporary car insurance), legal services (through an agency running website funnels, ads and email for a law firm), construction and consumer products, selling to both consumers and businesses.

Book a Power Hour (£79): one hour, one problem and a written next step. If you go on to a Marketing Focus Week, the £79 is credited against it.

Book a free Discovery Session: a no-obligation conversation about where you are and what you need.
